Why add documents to a question?
Any useful document should be added in order to materialize and justify a given answer. If it is a paper document, title it and add a single identification number! Read also “Additional Information” on bottom of TSI Software.

(Back to top)

Why add comments to a question?
Comments should be added as much as possible to argument the chosen answer and or to approve or reject an orange or red flag computed for that specific indicator.

Red and orange flags in reports! What is to do?
An acceptable computed general TSI index, i.e. between 1.01 and 2.69 (green and orange coloured general index value) may, despite of all, have several red flagged single indicators. It is the task of the operator to scrutinize the indicators value and to accept and or reject it. If you have a red indicator, you should comment whether you accept it or not. An added document is sometime necessary. Proceed the same way for ALL red flags! N.B. Rejecting a red flag, despite an acceptable general index, may force you to REJECT the commercial operation or transaction totally!

AMOZ! What does that mean?
Simply an acronym to remember when to USE TSI:
Activity at risk
Market at risk
Object at risk
Zone at risk
The amount of the transaction is not always the ultimate determination factor. Even a smaller amount can implicate you in legal and/or criminal troubles!

How is the responsibility of Management through TSI involved?
Even if a staff member works out the TSI, it is the CEO’s responsibility to approve, request a deeper analysis, a documented version even an audited one, or reject a commercial operation/ transaction analyzed with TSI if the results are unsatisfactory and too risky.

Why differentiate: Planning, Adapting to the current situation and Auditing in TSI properties?
The same TSI should be used for the “planning” level, the “operational” level and for the “audit” level as well. Any TSI should be regularly reviewed and adapted to the current operational situation, the index computed again and the report analyzed and filed. The operator should update the “properties” of the TSI accordingly.

(Back to top)

When should you use “Own questions”?
Do not hesitate to add your own internal questions. They do not influence the overall result of the Index and can be used in order to get an “all in one” documentation about a commercial operation or transaction.

What are the different Reports?
There are two types of reports: Simple report and Full report. Use the Simple report to check the flag colour for any question and the Full report for filing purposes. Each time the operator requests a full report TSI will file by default a copy of it in the specified directory. That allows you to compare later the evolution of the results for the same TSI. It is an essential tool for management and especially auditors to follow the historical evolution of any transaction or commercial operation.

What does Simple TSI versus grouped TSI mean?
It is a matter of good sense to use one or the other possibility. Basically use Simple TSI for a single Profile associated to a single Transaction. Time passing, adjust the simple TSI to the current situation and compute the index again as often as needed (till closing and archiving the TSI).
For grouped TSI or commercial operations, consider the opportunity to use it if: a) for the same profile you have several transaction types. (For instance, copy the profile to open an additional TSI). b) You face a complex commercial operation with several types of C/S/P and several different transactions.(Examples: Producing with third parties a complex mechanical tool; Your bank is financing a trading operation with several intermediaries; You face a commercial operation where you deliver goods but have to pay (including commissions) several persons).
Use grouped TSI any time when you have several profiles to analyze and involved in a commercial operation.

Stuck with a question?
Read Additional Information! It is very usual not to have time to read the HOW TO or ReadMe. Everyone has experienced that. Right? Nevertheless you should read carefully the “help?”, the “Demonstration”, the “Quick Start” in the “Welcome Menu” and especially the functionalities under “Additional Information” at the bottom of the TSI main screen. The indications there are shown in 4 separate folders. One of which can be used for your OWN internal procedures (See TSI Software under “Administrator” and “Internal Procedures Info”)

When should TSI be used?

  • You sometimes make commercial operations on an international level;
  • You require particular authorizations regarding import/export of certain products or services (e.g. products said to be sensible, such as chemicals, etc.);
  • Your commercial partners are sometimes situated in counties or regions with a culture different to yours or of which you have insufficient knowledge. (e.g. Africa, China, etc.);
  • You commit your company or yourself in transactions with persons or companies even when feeling uncertain about them;
  • Your company is legally bound to protect itself against certain criminal risks (e.g. Code of conduct, money-laundering, fraud, C-TPAT, etc.)?
  • The reputation of your company is a decisive factor for its image and its business;
  • Your procedures regarding commercial or financial decisions follow defined obligations (i.e. ETHICS ™trade;).

What do we mean with TSI Levels?
TSI™ will be used on a:

  • Planning level
  • Operational level
  • Audit level

The entire life of a commercial transaction can therefore be followed and managed.
Further TSI™ can be used progressively on different steps:

  • Auto-detection: for an initial appreciation of risk
  • Documented: to go deeper and materialize given answers
  • Audited: in order to protect in case of a doubt or as a measure of precaution

How to print the drop-down menus used in TSI software?

Why does the program block if you modify several times question 13a and 13b?
TSI software blocks the successive modification of questions 13a and 13 b if you change more than three times the selected type of transaction in the table! This is an anti-abuse check to avoid a repetitive use of the same TSI Credit.

(Back to top)

What to do if I do not find in the drop-down menu 13a or 13b the right transaction object description?
If you do not find in table 13a or 13b the proper transaction type, you have to select either:
“1 - Settlement by secured money transfer” “2 - Other type of settlement (Ex.: cash, goods, compensations, etc.)” or “Other object that YOU consider at NO risk” or “Other object that YOU consider at risk”. This depends obviously of the status of the Profile i.e. Client, Supplier or Partner. In any case, you shall describe the transaction in detail within the comments. See Question 13d as well and under Administration in TSI Software the folder “Own Objects” allowing you to add up to 100 own products or services!

How to install TSI for several companies or users?
The easiest way to use TSI Software for more than one company/user is to open as many operators named with the” company name/user name”. Each company/user will have the right to work with his TSI’s and the administrator(s) will still have access to all of them (Auditor, Management, etc). See: TSI Software under “Administration”: “Users”

Is there a Windows Server (multi-user) version for TSI?
TSI Software is in the current version only a single PC Solution. You may access to TSI Software through “Remote Desktop” or you may install it as often as you wish on a network server in different directories. Each company will access then separately to TSI through the allocated directory. For support, ask: E-mail
